Curt Long says Hello World!

My name is Curt Long, and here is the long and short about me :) -

I went to Indiana University for college. I began with a Journalism major, because I have always enjoyed writing. After a year, I changed to SPEA (School of Public & Environmental Affairs), following my Environmental and Law interests. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree, with a double major in Environmental Affairs and Administrative Policy Management.

My initial work experience, approximately nine years, was with Environmental Engineering Firms. I became a Registered Environmental Manager and learned large scale geologic project management, professional supervision, and digital groundwater modeling. I ran my own environmental consulting business for a couple of years and out of necessity learned about computer network administration, program development and the new internet (remember Prodigy). With the loss of a green world attitude by many of my clients, I decided to change my career direction towards my new computer interests.

I began with IBM, and helped them roll out Merlin and Windows 95 at the Tampa campus (I remember during this time, eBay had less then 10 items listed!). Since then, I have experienced over fifteen years of technology change while learning new web development and design techniques for print, video, and marketing to help Construction Firms, Financial Institutions, Marketing Firms, International Engineering Firms, Printing Firms, Federal Governmental Agencies and Medical Software/Device Firms. My expierence includes, Classic ASP, ASP.Net, Javascript, AJAX, JQuery, PHP, CSS, SQL Server, MySQL and XML.

I am a scuba diver, enjoy taking photographs of Florida's natural beauty, and a god guy.
